Tuerkiyemspor 0:1 TeBe

Fuss celebates (thanks to tebe.de for the pics)

Katzbachstadion, Saturday 8th March 2008

Team: Hampf - Wanski - Below - Mohra - Can - Petrowsky - Kukulies (Kalkan)- Ergirdi - Schrödter - Savran - Fuß (Kessler)

Scorer: Fuss (87.)

Attendance: 505 (approx. 200 TeBe)

Great result, not so great performance. Apparently. But that matters not, as TeBe take all the points in a veritable 6-pointer against the team 2nd in the league, a team that had recently beaten both Hertha II and Hansa II.

Jubilant Party Army

Schrödter apparently played well, Fuss was back on form apart from his corners, and Timo made some important saves, but apparently Tuerkiyem played conservatively for the draw and it was a poor game. Another downside is that most of the sides in the top 7 all won. The table's looking quite tight, here it is:

1. (1.) Hertha BSC Berlin II 16 13 2 1 40:7 +33 41
2. (2.) BFC Türkiyemspor 1978 17 11 2 4 26:13 +13 35
3. (6.) FSV Optik Rathenow 17 9 5 3 24:15 +9 32
4. (3.) Greifswalder SV 04 16 10 1 5 35:17 +18 31
5. (4.) Hansa Rostock II 15 9 3 3 41:15 +26 30
6. (7.) Tennis Borussia Berlin 16 9 3 4 38:15 +23 30
7. (5.) Berliner FC Dynamo 16 8 5 3 29:15 +14 29

So the promotion dream lives on, probably till mid-April with some silly draws and defeats against struggling teams.

TeBe 1:2 Tuerkiyemspor

23rd August 2007, Mommsenstadion

...and things go from bad to worse for TeBe, a team who are notoriously slow starters. Well, dropping 6 points already against 2 teams we should beat on paper does not bode well for the coming 10 months.

Yet again, our only performer was allegedly Halil Savran; our playmaker 'dervish', Ergidi, was man-marked by an enforcer and was thus rendered anonymous; misplaced passes allez, no play down the flanks, diagonal balls though the middle cutting holes in our new defence (Thiam still injured, Below had to go off early), not enough working back from the wingers and strikers, etc etc (thanks to Lila Kanal, I've paraphrased some of the comments).

3 games in and we're already 6 points behind the leaders and the 'stay-in-the-same-league' positions. A sorry picture, similar to last season when we were realistically out of the picture by the end of September, is emerging. Good old TeBe.

I await with baited breath for match reports from Doughnut Boy, who's soon back in Berlin. I imagine he'll be none-too-keen on going along regularly to watch bog-standard Oberliga dross. I don't blame him. I'm kinda glad I'm not going to be in Berlin this year.

TeBe 1:0 Tuerkiyemspor

3 points, (at least) -3 degrees

Mommenstadion, 23rd February 2007

Team: Ulbricht - Schalle, Thiam, Galic - Kurbjuweit, Petrowsky, Camara (55. Lemcke), Scholl, Griesert (87. Konal) - Savran, Fuß.

Scorer: Savran (65)

Attendance: 346

FINALLY the 2nd half of the season got under way on Friday night after a seemingly interminable winter break of 2/1/2 months. It was a bitterly cold night, so Hancot came prepared, complete with long johns, snowboard gear and a thermos flask of piping hot mulled wine :)

To be honest, there's nothing much to report about the match. I felt TeBe controlled proceedings without really threatening, Tuerkiyemspor offered little or nothing, it was one of those non-descript nights, and for a long time it looked like we were going to play out an uninspired 0-0, until Savran rose like a salmon to head home a cross and secure the win. A very Babelsberg-esque win, 1 goal in it without really impressing.

Thought the new boys made a good impression, especially the keeper Ulbricht and Camara the midfielder, who surprisingly was taken off after 55 mins, mybe not yet match fit. Fuss looked a bit overweight and wasn't his usual sharp self, and Benny had a stinker, a complete contrast to the hat-trick hero I last saw.

Disappointing crowd, but it was ball-freezing, the game wasn't advertised at all, we are 12 points behind with no real hope of promotion, and there's nothing to play for. We really need to get out of this league. Top 4 next season before the league is restructured is a necessity; our cause won't be helped by Hertha II looking like they're going to get relegated into our league. I thought Block E had one of their noisier evenings, the 'chaos singing' being my personal favourite.

Really was a night to chat with familiar faces one hadn't seen for a while and catch up. 3 points, thank you and goodnight.
